The Holiday Weekend
We had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!! We had lunch with Ya-ya and Popa in Birmingham and ate way too much. The kids always have a blast playing with their Uncles! Haley went straight to the Christmas tree when we arrived and wanted to know who's birthday it was because their were presents out...(I guess she forgot about keeping presents under the tree from last year, i haven't gotten brave enough to put any under ours this year i figured they would get "accidentally" unwrapped...)so we ate and watched the tree man save Jinxy from her perch 40 feet up in a tree (Bless her heart she knows how to climb the tree but lacks the ability to come back down! We think the yardmen chased her up there with the blower!!) and then Popa offered to take anyone on a boat ride that wanted to go (haley usually loves this) but she was insistent on staying in the house...so they are gone a few minutes and I notice mom laughing, peeking around a corner with my camera...Haley had picked through the presents under the tree until she found one wrapped like a dvd and snuck in the living room to open it!! Little monkey! She gave mom those puppy dog eyes and said, "Ya-ya don't care?!" And you know she didn't so Haley was beside herself with her new Mermaid movie! Brad and Lance had to have their annual arm wrestling match (I'll let Brad tell ya how that turned out) and Matthew jumped in on the action... Then we loaded up and headed for Echola. We had supper at Mam-maw Springer's and that is always lots of fun because its a FULL HOUSE!! Most everyone was there and we again ate way too much. I finally remembered to bring Brock's wildcat jersey so he could get a picture with John Michael (cousin, plays for County high). Haley had a blast playing with all her cousins and discovered the world of polly pocket with Maddie (our Christmas list just grew again). We spent most of the rest of the weekend with Max,Elaine,Thad, Dawn and Dylan. It is amazing to me how well Haley, Brock and Dylan do together! They really enjoy playing together and all get along really well for hours at a time! We went to New Hope Sunday morning to hear Bro. Max preach his last sermon there as their pastor...He and Mrs. Elaine are making a career change now and we are hoping that they will have more time for rest! So, we had a great weekend as i said before! Back to normal life today, we had Physical therapy this morning and Haley did great! Just a few more weeks, the countdown is on for Christmas...
