Goodbye George, Hello Lady!!
Well, our Christmas has been so peaceful this year!! I am almost scared to say that but it really has! We spent Saturday with the Striplings and the kids got tons of toys and had a blast playing with Dylan. Haley's favorite thing there was her polly pockets she says and Brock's is his front end loader... Then we got up Sunday morning and went to our church and then to my parents and they had a blast playing with the uncles and Haley's Dora tent and Brock's tractor...And they again got tons of toys...We ate way to much and got to do lots of catching up with family and it was just soo much fun!! On Monday we had my family for Lunch and Lance's family for supper here and we always look so forward to that! Santa picked up George when he left the kids toys and he named the puppy Lady and left a note to the kids telling them so...Haley is still calling her "lady and the tramp" but that's okay she will shorten it soon! Brock didn't freak out about the puppy actually he did the exact opposite of what we expected!! He came running in the den, immediately saw the puppy, slid down on his knees in front of it trying to get it to come to him saying, "a puppy!" over and over again!! Haley didn't see her at first and was kind of in shock once she did!! They played with the puppy non-stop for several hours before even noticing their toys!! It was so amazing because Santa doesn't wrap here, everything was just sitting out and they could have cared less. Since Christmas we have played and played and played!! I love this week after Christmas because everything seems to calm down and slow down and we get to play with all the new toys and get caught up on stuff around the house! We are having a blast!! I thought it was really sweet Christmas Eve when Lance was doing his part of putting Haley to bed (this has become a two person job lately, she wants one of us to come read to her then the other to come in and she tells them a story...) He was the story person that night and she wanted to know just how Santa was going to get into our house since we don't have a fireplace, well we did have a wood burning stove in the den but we took it out last spring and its sitting in the building outside and she just knew for sure that Santa would be confused and leave her stuff there!! Just when we forget that she is almost five she comes up with stuff that reminds you that there is absolutely nothing wrong with her mind...We love these kind of moments because its reassuring that she is gonna be just fine!!
