makes you think...
Last tuesday morning we got a call at 7 a.m. that Lance's former roommate Jeff had passed away the morning before at 33 years old from acute leukemia that he didn't even know he had! He had had a sore throat for 4 weeks and seen four different doctors about that and started running a fever saturday so his wife took him to the emergency room and he passed away monday morning. The doctors told her he could have had it for as little as four weeks, that this type is that aggressive!! He left behind a three year old and eight month old as well as a wife way to young to be a widow!! Just goes to show you you have got to be ready because you may get no warning!
This time last year Haley was in a spica cast from her shoulders down to her toes and never once complained and hardly slept a wink for the six weeks she was in it and that seemed like the end of the world to us. Little did we know what the next few weeks had in store for us! She got that cast off a year ago tomorrow and started that horrible rash and fever a year ago from Friday...Wow it is amazing to me all the miracles we witnessed this very time last year and how far we have come since that horrible day last May!!!
I guess the lesson to be learned and really hit home with us is Life is short, don't take a second for granted!! We are blessed to be here and should be a blessing to those around us. That is really what its all about when you think about it! The petty stuff is just that, petty. Life is too short to hold grudges or be angry. If you are mad, say you are mad, settle it and forgive. If you love someone tell them. And most of all if you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior all you have to do is admit you are a sinner, ask him to come into your life and commit your life to him TODAY!!
I know this is a little deep for one of my blog entries but this very time last year changed our lives forever and with it being the anniversary of that I couldn't just let it pass without mentioning it. I truly believe Haley is going to have such a testimony to tell one day and she has already touched more lives in her short five years than I have in 31!
