So we decided to send him!
We straddled the fence right up until the last minute but he is officially three days into Kindergarten! He has Mrs Floyd who we just love and she is gonna be really good for him. The first day I took him to his class and he was so brave until she told him where to stand for his picture to be made and when he turned to face the camera he had tears in his eyes. He quickly regained control as she showed him the morning drill of where to put his stuff and make his lunch choice etc. He went to his desk where Ty and I were waiting to tell him goodbye and started on his morning work. I told him I was leaving and he said, "mom do you promise you are going to pick me up this afternoon?" (that is when I almost lost it!) I told him of course and he quickly said, "Well then I am gonna be okay!" I stepped outside his room and said a little prayer for him to have a good day and headed to Haley's class(She has Ms Harton and she is absolutely as nice as she can be!). When we started in the building that morning she told me I didn't have to take her class that she knew where it was so I sent her on by herself when I saw all the moms on the kindergarten hall. We went to check on her and the whole time Ty keeps saying "we go find my class next mommy right?!" As he proudly wears his backpack and holds a coloring book in hand. She was fine just like I hoped she would be so I snapped a few pictures in her room and told Ty we were leaving. I caught a glimpse of Brock heading back from the bathroom and he was walking tall so I knew he was fine but once Ty saw we were heading outside he was on the verge of a meltdown. "mommy we didn't find my class! I need to get my picture with my teacher!" So thank goodness Misty that I run with is Mrs Fanning a Kindergarten teacher at school and extremely laid back and a fool about Ty so I peaked in and she still had a half dozen moms sitting at their children's desks (I am bad but not that bad...sitting at their desks!! Seriously this is school people go home!) So I asked if he could get his picture with her and she was so sweet to come running to welcome him and pose for a picture. Then he was happy to leave with me! We got home he came running in the den, sat in the middle of the floor and asked, "Mommy what are we gonna play first?!" We got through the day much quieter around here than normal and went to carpool extra early so the kids wouldn't be in line forever....Haley came bebopping out of the school (you can always tell how her day has been by the way she comes to the car in carpool) and Brock jumped in and yelled, "I LOVE my new school, I had a WONDERFUL day!!" That made it great for everyone!
