Trying to catch back up...

Brock lost his third tooth last Thursday night.  He kept talking about it after he ate dinner so I suggested he should pull it and try out that new tooth fairy pillow...and that's just what he did!  He wondered before he went to bed if she would leave him a Valentine since their mailboxes are out now and much to his surprise the next morning she had done just that!  He was so excited he took it to show and tell Friday.  His classmates were in awe because according to him none of them have lost teeth yet so it was a big deal to have lost his third and to get a valentine from the tooth fairy!

We all had fun decorating the mailboxes for this year!  Here are some pictures of them on the fireplace.  They sit there the month of February and when you come by and your flag is up some family member has left you mail.  Today they had surprises from Uncle Brad which they thought was really thoughtful of him seeing as its his birthday not theirs!

This is our second year with the mailboxes and I just love it!  They love getting mail, who doesn't ?! and they write the sweetest notes to each other!  Well the big kids do anyway most of Ty's right now is scribble and his name at the bottom...but its the thought that counts!

Our other big news...

Ty is writing his name.

And we are sooo PROUD OF HIM!!

He has been writing the T for a while and started the Y a little later but refused to put them next to each other.  When we go over the alphabet he has to know who's name starts with each of the letters and so when we get to the Y he always reminds me that that is Ya-ya's letter.  So when I would try to get him to write his name he would say, "the ya-ya doesn't like standing next to the T"... I finally convinced him the day these pictures were taken last week that the T was a man with a hat on and his friend was a short guy with his hands up in the air and that's all it took!  He has been writing his name every since!
We go to the library every week for storytime, the big kids have library cards and he really wants one (you don't want to be in the library as we are leaving without getting him a card!) but I kept saying until you can write your name on your card you can't have one...well he very quickly informed me the other day that he was now getting a library card!  I will post pictures of that soon!
