The Beach...

Lance and I went to the beach this past weekend just the two of us! We had so much fun and it was the break we needed. We left on Wednesday and came back yesterday. It seemed so weird to go to bed whenever you decided without listening to the monitor or fixing sippy cups in case the kids woke up during the night and sleep as late as you wanted! We got to lay out in the sun and go to a few movies. We went on a sunset cruise on the bay Saturday night on The Corsair, which used to be a shrimping boat. It was beautiful and such an experience! We got to watch them put out the nets and catch shrimp, fish, crabs, eel, catfish, etc. The dolphins stay right with the boat the whole time waiting on you to throw them fish. Rosalee, the deckhand, steamed the shrimp and crab and we had it for supper! It was sooo good! We had a great time! We are so blessed to have such wonderful parents to keep our kids! They stayed two nights with each set and had a blast! It was a nice break but we sure were glad to all be here together last night! We couldn't wait to get back to the kids Sunday and they seemed tickled to see us too!

Back to reality today...Haley went to Physical therapy and did really well! She is still working on stairs (going up and down) and trying to get the hang of jumping. Before the surgery she could go up stairs with ease but had trouble coming down and she has never jumped completely unassisted so these are major milestones for her! She is already moving quicker 4 months out from surgery than she did in the two years of walking before it! She almost has a jog to her, its still walking but fast walking. We suspect that her right leg is slightly shorter than her left one, we are trying some things to make up for it because its very slight but possibly just enough to keep her limping. Hopefully some of the corrective procedures will work and she will start to move more smoothly really soon! She has the best attitude with all of this, bless her heart she has endured so much in her four years and she just takes it all in stride with the most heart warming smile on her face all the while! We go back to the GI doctor Wednesday and hopefully everything will look good with her blood work and everything and I understood him to say this would be the last time he would see her as long as nothing new shows up. I hope that's right, I always love it when we can drop a doctor from our list! I will update after we see him.
