First Trip to the pool this year...

It always takes a few minutes the first trip to the pool for the kids to get the hang of it all again...BUT then they are full steam ahead!!  We have the most WONDERFUL neighbors next door that let us swim in their pool.  The kids feel right at home at the Harbin's and LOVE going over there!  Gaye had told the children out in the yard a week or so before school got out that they could start swimming as soon as school got out so they were holding her to it.  ;-)

Ty going off the dive.  He has really amazed me so far this year!  He realized that he can touch in the shallow end so he calls that, "tippy-toeing" and he only wants to tippy toe now.  He also thinks he can swim since the big kids can so in a move of down right defiance (we were ready to leave the pool and everyone had sat out for a few minutes to dry...he needed to walk around the end to get his flip flops and you could see it in his eyes, he was going in...I warned him that if he did he would get a spanking...he went right in.. he was smiling at me from under water so I told him to kick and he did all the way to the stairs!)  he has been swimming under water all over the pool every since that day!  He is taking lessons from Coach Anne in a few weeks.  Now if he can master swimming on top of the water some too that will be great!!

His first trip in the pool he insisted on having the ear plugs in so it wouldn't hurt his ears.  Thank goodness his ear tubes have fallen out since last summer so we don't have to battle over the ear plugs anymore.  I just had to prove it to him that it wouldn't hurt.

Brock being silly!

Would you look at that dive!?

This is Ty's dive...  ;0)

And Brock's cannonball...

Haley has been wanting a trophy every since Brock got one at the end of last year's baseball season.  She was willing to risk life and limb to try to get one so when it got time to order trophies for the team this year we ordered her one for such a wonderful completion of second grade.  She knew throughout the year she had to work really hard to get one and she really did some amazing things throughout this school year especially considering how different it ended up being for her.  She forgot about it in all of the excitement of summer though so she was shocked when here Daddy gave her this one.

She was so excited, right after we took this one she just busted out crying.  I had to explain to her daddy that is was a girl moment, the first of many to come I am sure.

Here is Brock getting his trophy at his team party at Gavin's House.  He had so much fun swimming with his team.  We had a REALLY great group of kids and parents this year and that makes such a difference!!  I really hope we are on teams with most of them again!

Brock turned 6 last weekend!! I cannot believe he is already 6.  He wanted a bicycle that looks like a dirt bike (I need to take a picture of him on it) so it was waiting on him in the den when he woke up that morning.  We spent the day swimming with the Sanford boys and then Jackson spent the night with him that night (this was his first time to have a friend spend the night).  He had his party at the bowling alley.

Ty remembered bowling from a few months ago so he thought he was a pro!

Haley loves it too!

He only wanted to invite boys this year and they seemed to have a good time.

Pizza and cake.

Dylan, Sawyer and Uncle Thad made the drive down for his party!  He was so excited they came and they ended up swimming with us that afternoon and spending the night that night.  We had so much fun!

Sawyer is like Ty they think they are as big as their older brothers so they bowled just like the big kids.

The Uncles, Aunt Margaret and Uncle Floyd came.  Ya-ya and Popa weren't able to come down, Popa had knee surgery last Tuesday and hadn't even been out of the hospital 24 hours at this point.

The birthday boy with Pop and Granna.  The annual birthday picture!

Our family of 5!  I don't know if Haley is saying cheese or growling at her brothers and Ty kind of looks like he is about to cry.  Oh well, we tried!
